# Miniglot

> Miniglot is an iPhone app for learning the vocabulary of Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French and German. Words come in a feed you scroll, like social media, and spaced repetition brings each one back just before you would forget it. The words follow the official exam lists: HSK 1 to 6 for Chinese, JLPT N5 to N1 for Japanese, CEFR A1 to C1 for the European languages.

Facts:
- 29,175 words across 26 levels, each with its reading (pinyin, kana or IPA) and its meaning, most with an example sentence.
- Built on spaced repetition: a word you know comes back after days, then weeks; one you missed comes back the same day.
- Stories and graded books written only from words the learner already knows, and YouTube videos with tappable subtitles.
- Glot, the app's mascot, explains any word: what it means, how it's used, the mistake learners make with it. In English, French, German or Spanish.
- An offline dictionary for every language (CC-CEDICT for Chinese, JMdict for Japanese, Wiktionary for the others).
